Catch Up With My Days – September 2016

asda-tickled-pink

Hello hello! Can you believe September is nearly over? The past few weeks have completely run away with me! I have some things to share with you though, so grab a cuppa, and read on! Asda asked if I would let you know about their Tickled Pink Products in support of Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now this October. It’s such a good cause of course I agreed. Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign, part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is now in its 20th year. Every product sold includes a donation to the appeal. They have some really cute items, but if pom pom socks and pyjamas aren’t really your thing then look for the logo when buying your coca cola and crumpets. A Week at Benone Tourist Complex

I cannot believe the schools are back, and summer is all but over. What I can tell you is that is the first time in a long time, that I feel like I had a summer. A Day Trip to Inishowen Donegal

Inishowen Culdaff

Cove at Culdaff

During our recent stay in Benone, we decided to catch the ferry from Magilligan, on the North Coast of Northern Ireland,  to Greencastle in the South, to explore the Inishowen region of Donegal.

It’s not somewhere I had ever been, so I randomly picked Culdaff as our first stop, and what a beautiful place it was. Just 10 miles from the ferry we found  golden sandy beaches, a quiet cove, a play park for the kids and the Atlantic Ocean shimmering in every shade from tourquoise to cobalt blue! As part of the Wild Atlantic Way coastal route, this little gem is unmissable, and much better than my photo’s suggest!

Carrick Dhu Camp Site Review

This Carrick Dhu camp site review, is my first experience of camping in around 20 years. I was hesistant and unsure what to expect from the facilities, as the information available online was somewhat limited. I hope this review will help to show you what you can expect from a camping trip at Carrick Dhu.

A Northern Irish BBQ

Sausages on BBQ

What makes a really great Northern Irish BBQ? Sheltering from the rain? Yes, of course that can be part of the fun, but that’s not what I meant. What I mean, is how better to enjoy spending quality time with your family than by getting outdoors and eating al fresco, while taking advantage of all the great local produce we have available. Also, as it is the Northern Ireland year of food and drink, we should make as much effort as possible to support and showcase local business.
