Love The Little Things #4

As I sit here the night before publishing this post, it is occurring to me that I really should plan better. I am wondering if I have indeed, read, watched, made or wore anything (other than jeans and a jumper) which would be of any interest to anyone! Not to mention the lack of photographs! Only one way to find out – here goes with all the little things I have been loving this week!

So.. it is not exactly a secret that I read a fair bit of chicklit, however, my latest 99p Kindle purchase is slightly pushing even my limits of cheesy nonsense. I don’t want to name the author because I’m pretty sure it is someone who has self published. And do you know what – anyone who has a dream and goes out and fulfils it, should be proud of themselves. It’s not like I paid Β£9.99, so I cannot expect a work of literary genius. But I will be relatively pleased to reach the last chapter on this one.

I revisited an old favourite this week and watched an episode of The Kardishians. (It is possible I am killing my street cred here this week!) It was just an old re-run, but I found myself glued to the screen, reluctant to get up and put the kids to bed. I think the appeal for me is not only in watching how ‘the other half’ live, but because I enjoy watching the family dynamics. They fight and love like every other family I know. Pretty normal after all! Plus, anyone who promotes a ‘big butt’ in this world of size 6 models, has got to be a good thing!

I was going to say Cheryl, but I’ve done enough damage here already, so following on from last week I am going to tell you about another proud Mammy moment. Aaron, who hasn’t said much thus far, has been rattling out Mama, Dada, and playing with a dinosaur while shouting Raaaaaar!!! Β Walking and talking more in the space of two weeks, he is definitely moving from the baby to toddler stage. It’ s nearly enough to make me broody. Nearly; but not quite!

My usual attire, but I am considering buying a waterproof suit of some description. It feels like it has rained non-stop and I am craving a big old plastic coverall with attached wellie boots, to prevent me having to change my jeans every time I return from the school run! I’m too short. My trousers tend to be too long. This results in them drinking up surface water more efficiently than any Kitchen Towel I have ever purchased. Or maybe some skinny jeans and boots would work instead of a fisherman’s outfit? I’ll have to go shopping and see what I can find!

I forgot to even include this last week! This week I made.. emmmm…. beans on toast for dinner one night. I now have half a kitchen, but trust me.. a few more weeks and you are going to be salivating at this section.. absolutely salivating!!!

And Lastly:

Watching my kitchen finally start to be fitted! I have a sink. Okay, I haven’t got any taps or running water, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. It’s been a long, dark, slightly unhygienic journey.. but there is light people, there is light!

What little things have you been loving this week?

  • I totally need one of those all in one rain proof things with wellies too! I think they should be a must for the school run πŸ˜‰ xx

  • I love the first line of your listened section!! A great read. Thank you for linking to PoCoLo πŸ™‚ x

  • you can’t beat beans on toast! It’s one of my favorite english foods. lol Excited to see your new kitchen. I bet you are too. The weather is getting to me I feel like I can’t get anything done. Great round of #littleloves

  • Mummy Hearts You says:

The Kardashians is the extreme of trashy TV but we can’t help ourselves! Its the little things that please us too, new sink? shout it out Mrs! You have been without one for a while!! Looking forward to seeing you kitchen!

  • Not A Frumpy Mum says:

Looking forward to serving your new kitchen, very exciting.
I hate it when the bottom of your jeans soak up water, nothing worse. Good luck shopping! xx

  • ‘Its been a long, dark, slightly unhygenic journey’ could have described our bathroom re-fit earlier this year πŸ™‚ I don’t think I’ve ever watched the Kardashians – I’m not sure if we’ve got the channel – but that is something I could so be sucked into! I have been known to watch on in horrified fascination during some Katie Price episodes! How does someone get a bum like that though? Surgical enhancement? She’s not big anywhere else so it’s kind of weird. We had our rainiest school run so far this morning – I went with leggings & boots. It was actually easier because all the crowds had moved to one side under the wraparound roof and we could just whizz past! Have a great weekend Mel Xx #littleloves

  • Everything but the cabbage stick says:

Yaaaaay a fellow chicklit lover and I am very pleased that someone else also shares my Keeping up with the Kardashians habit :-). I can’t get it now we don’t have Sky and I may have contemplated buying the kardashian boxset. I know shocking!

  • lifeatthelittlewood says:

So excited to see your kitchen – eek! πŸ™‚ And of course all the gorgeousness that then comes from it! Hasn’t the weather been rotten? Last night was horrendous! I think a full waterproof suit sounds like the very best idea. I want one too! πŸ˜‰ Have a lovely weekend Mel xxx
