Love The Little Things #1

I have been spying on the Love the Little Things linky at But Why Mummy Why from afar for several months. I love the idea but I am not sure that my lifestyle would fit neatly into the headings provided. This week I have rather spontaneously decided to give it a try – I may have to use a little poetic licence, but sure…. the world would be a boring place if we were all the same!

So here goes, the little things that I have been loving this week…

Reading… I was browsing through some blogs when I came across Emily Organ. At the bottom her post she was advertising her novel, The Last Day on Kindle for just 99p! As a tired mummy I absolutely prefer easy reading at this stage of my life, and this book delivers. The story revolves around the main character who had a premonition about the date of his death. I am about half way through reading this now and I still can’t guess if he is going to live or not!

Watched The Blind Side featuring Sandra Bullock, which is based on the true story of a homeless boy who goes on to be an all star American Football Player. This film was a bit slow to get started, and there were times when I definitely had to concentrate to follow the story (blame the tired mummy syndrome perhaps). However, it was sweet, heart warming and inspirational, demonstrating that we shouldn’t always judge people, and a little compassion in this world can go a long way!

Heard The craziest thing I heard this week came from the lips of Lewis, my 4 year old. He said ‘Boys are clever clogs, and girls are a nonsense!’ I am concerned! Where on earth did he hear such a thing! The matter has yet to be resolved, but I know this much….it was a source of a lot of good natured banter for a few days, what with me being rather outnumbered by boys!

Made… A rather large hole in the old bank account! Now you might wonder why this would be a good thing, and in general it wouldn’t, but in my case it is because I am finally making a little progress with my kitchen renovation. The bad news is it looks like I will be living without a kitchen sink for some time. Sob!

Wore Yes… now… this subject was one of the reasons I have delayed joining this linky. I have been wearing my standard jeans and jumpers. I really need to hit the shops and get myself organised with a winter wardrobe. Or, if someone could just send me the appropriate items that would be much appreciated!

And lastly…. This is nothing new, but I have been enjoying cuddles with my boys. Lewis has been a bit under the weather, and although I don’t like to see him unwell, it does mean I get a few more cuddles than usual. Aaron is teething so he also has been a little more clingy than usual. I’ll take my cuddles when I can get them, because the saying is true you know – they do grow up so fast!
