I have two weeks of Little Loves to catch up on, as I was otherwise engaged last week. Best to just get on with it I think. Here goes:
Last weekend I watched on as a very dear friend of mine got married. I couldn’t have been more proud, or any happier, that she has vowed to spend the rest of her life with her soul mate. I really do wish them all the very best for the future.
The wedding was in England, and my family were booked into the hotel for three nights. The first night we arrived the boys were all out of routine, and didn’t get to bed until about 9pm. What followed for the next two hours was nothing short of a nightmare. Aaron screamed, Lewis copied and Mr C and I wondered if we would get kicked out of the hotel. Then, I remembered about this book I have been hearing of, that helps children go to sleep. Unfortunately it wasn’t available on kindle at the time, but I was able to buy an audio version. Within 2 minutes of starting the book both children were quiet, and then they were asleep within another 10. It’s magic hypnotic qualities worked the next night too! I would definitely recommend it. Of course, a good night’s sleep meant we were able to enjoy the wedding. We really had loads of fun. The boys thought it was amazing, and they looked so cute, yet still slightly dishevelled in their shirts and ties. I was a bridesmaid, and it was lovely being pampered and getting all dressed up. We even had custom dressing gowns and slippers for the preparation stage! And I loved the photobooth! We got some great pictures from it. A few snaps…
I read that Shania Twain celebrated her 50th Birthday. Even now, writing this piece of information, leaves me gobsmacked! Shania Twain turning 50, makes me feel older, than I felt when I turned 30.. if that makes sense? I definitely feel like I have been on a physical and mental slide for the past few years. I’m going to up my game. I am. I just might have a cup of tea first, and maybe a chocolate biscuit…
As my building work nears an end, so does the money that funded it. That means I am going to have to be a whole lot more compromising and creative with my decor than I intended. This week I have been looking for light fittings for Aaron’s room. You can read about my plans for his toddler boys bedroom here. After much searching, I decided to make my own pom pom light shade. It was so simple to do. It only cost me a few pounds, and it looks great. I saw similar on-line selling for £45, so this was a worthwhile exercise!
And that is it for another week. I have an exciting weekend of staining skirting board ahead of me, so wish me luck!
