Last week was a bit of a blur, but this week I’ve been catching up and getting back into my stride! Maybe a little too much striding, there has been the odd occasion this week where I have felt my brain might explode. I blame the builders! Alas, it did not happen. I remain intact! Here are this week’s Little Loves!
The builders have been working hard, and my sub floors are now in! The fact that I have been planning the alterations to this house since I moved in last year does not mean I am organised. No… It’s not that I don’t know what I want. It is just that now I have gone out looking for particular items, I cannot find what I want. Like my shower. They do not make showers in the design I wanted, and according to the custom glass making company I phoned, I cannot afford to have one made the way I want it done. He didn’t actually give me a price. He just said it would be too expensive. He was probably right!! So, I have been shopping, and browsing, and redesigning the ensuite in my head, and reading countless bathroom brochures! I think I have now decided what I’m going for, although I do reserve the right to change my mind!
Woo hoo!! I finally phoned a t.v. aerial man, and now we have all our channels back again! Mr C and I have been watching Alex Polizzi, Chefs on Trial. She is at a fancy hotel called The Gilpin, as she is helping a family business look for a Head Chef. It’s been quite interesting. It is a three part series, you can catch it on BBC iPlayer. (If you are quick. If the link has gone, you weren’t quick enough.) The meals the applicants prepare are nothing like what I dish up for my family though!
Seriously, it’s been kango drills all week thanks to the builders! My house vibrated so much that a storage tin fell off the window sill at one point!
Short sleeves, sandals and sun hats for the kids! Hasn’t it been just divine! April is fast becoming one of my favourite months of the year. The last few years April has been just fabulous, and it really kicks off the Summer season for me. Aaron is getting so big, just going for a wee walk in the sun with him really pulls on my wee heart strings. Watching him taking so much more interest in the world around him! And before you say it, yes, I know rain is forecast for next week!
I told you a few weeks ago, about how my rhubarb had survived the winter. Well, someone told me to put it in a pipe, so I did, and it totally shot up overnight. Apparently this is known as forced rhubarb. I have even been able to harvest my first crop, make some stewed rhubarb and pop it in the freezer! I have finally planted my lettuce, and Lewis has done his sunflowers and pumpkins seeds. (I have serious concerns about our ability to grow pumpkins but time will tell!) I have also started on a pallet herb garden! Any guesses where I got that idea from??? More on that another week!
The smell of freshly cut grass, which was shockingly long! And watching my two big boys hard at work! There are not many things in life better than that!
I hope you had a lovely week, and remember to stop and appreciate the little things! #littleloves
