Brrrr, winter decided to make an appearance this past week, although my kids remain disappointed that the snow hasn’t fallen so hard that a snowball fight was possible. At one stage I thought for sure we were going to be snowed under, but the flurry was short lived, and I was able to get to work without any problems! (Darn it!)
That’s not to say I haven’t enjoyed the weather. What better an excuse to put on the fire, and get comfy in my p.j.’s with a glass of wine and a good book. I am a big Jodi Picoult fan and her latest book, Small Great Things, does not disappoint. She certainly doesn’t shy away from the controversial issues in the world, and this book about race, bereavement, and family dynamics has me hooked.
However, much as I may enjoy relaxing in front of the fire, it doesn’t take long for cabin fever to set in during the winter months. If you are looking for somewhere to go with your family (or by yourself) then may I suggest you book yourself some tickets to go and see SING.
This film is sure to chase away the winter blues. It’s a lively animation, based around a singing competition, the last ditch attempt of one Koala’s fight to save his theatre. It just has the feel good factor, and I challenge you to not sing along, even if only in your head, as it is bursting full of popular songs.
Thanks to Universal we were pleased to accept an invitation to the Belfast Premier screening. The official release date is January, so save a date in your diary!
