Summer Loves So Far

Benone Beach

The Great Northern Irish Summer has arrived, and with it the expectation of long lazy days of fun. Days where the kids don’t argue, the sun shines brightly, and everyone is just happier. Of course, it isn’t always like that. The kids do still argue, as they are under each other’s feet all day. It rains, usually on your day off. And the bills still need paid, you still have to go to work, and the washing doesn’t miraculously start to do itself!

But, I thought I would share some of the things I have been loving about this summer. Starting with  spending time with my kids. We’ve been off camping at Benone as we did last year. The beach there is beautiful, and kids love the novelty of camping out.

This year I bought another addition to go with our Kalahari tent in the form of a screenhouse from Asda. AKA, the dining room. I’ve had my eye on one for ages, but when I saw this at the bargain price of £28, I knew it would do the job!

I’m also loving Amici Restorante in Portstewart. Probably the best lasagne I’ve ever had in my life!

Although I’m not much of a fashion blogger, I also have to introduce you to this hat Lewis picked from Peacock’s.  He sure looked the part when we treated ourselves to dinner at Roe Park Resort in Limivady.

And lastly, we’ve been to the cinema to see Cars 3. The boys loved it, and so did I. A great way to spend a rainy afternoon!

With 6 weeks of summer left, let’s hope the sun keeps shining!

Camping has certainly come on since I last went! I love your ‘dining room’. I bet the kids are having a blast x

Oh thanks Louisa. Yes, to be honest I was dreading the thought of camping, as prior to last year, my previous experience involved digging a hole in the woods. Luckily you can have a camping holiday with mod-cons these days. Or I might be writing a very different post! X

  • Sounds like you’re making the most of the break so far. I’ve not been camping for many years but the creature comforts seem so much better than when I was cooking pot noodles over a gas flame! I love your dining room, I bet the kids are having a blast x
