One average day on twitter a blogger called Vicki (@elliebearbabi) reached out to all those Northern Ireland Bloggers writing about parenting and lifestyle to see if there was any interest in having a little meet-up. I don’t think she anticipated much, if any response, but she got one!
Thus it came about that on a rainy Saturday morning, a little group of blogging individuals descended onto the quiet streets of Moira to shake that village up! Okay, not quite, we are all responsible Mum’s after all, but we did enjoy some pottery painting in a quaint little off street Studio called The Pottery Yarn. I painted myself a lovely side plate with a cross-eyed owl. Unfortunately as I write this, it remains in Moira, getting glazed, and so I cannot show you a picture. However, if you follow me on Instagram, I’m sure a little snapshot will show up sooner or later!
If you weren’t aware that Northern Ireland had it’s own group of bloggers, slaving away on their keyboards behind closed doors, then you have to go and check out these ladies. There are more than I have listed, but those who attended the meet-up are:
Emma at Ameila’s Mum
Jean at Creative Pixie
Vicki at Ellie Bear Babi
Emma at Little Wood Life
Rebecca at Mrs Mumsie
Emma at Outmumbered
Debs at SuperBusyMum
I was a little nervous about attending, but everyone was lovely, everyone was friendly, and of course we all had something in common to talk about – blogging. Vicki had done a marvellous job of organising the event, and increasing the profile of our little group. So much so, that a selection of companies agreed to sponsor our social outing, and provided us with a delightful goodie bag. Just look at some of the fabulous items we received!
I would like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to all the companies and if you would like to find out more information about any of them, you can find links at the end of this post.
One of the items in my goodie bag was a package from MamaScent. It is a little box of items designed to make combination breast and bottle feeding easier, or to help with the transition from breast to bottle. Basically Mum would wear a little pad, which is then attached to the babies bottle at the required time, offering the baby some reassurance as they can than smell their Mother’s scent. I think this is a fantastic idea, and as I currently have no use for this, I have decided to give it away!
That’s right, if you live in the UK or Ireland, just fill in the rafflecopter and this could be winging itself to you in the post. Good luck everyone, and don’t forget to read the t&c’s!
