Christmas Stories

Love the Little Things #7

The weeks are absolutely flying by, and I’m starting to feel a little festive! I have even started my Christmas shopping, which has made me feel a bit better – I was starting to have a wee panic about not having done anything! Read on for my round up of all the little things I have been loving this week:

Watched:

8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Mostly because that is what the hubby put on the television. I think Mr C is getting a little obsessed to be honest. I don’t mind so much though, as many moons ago one of my ambitions was to appear on Countdown. I used to be red hot on the numbers round! Not so much any more unfortunately, but I still enjoy trying.

Listened:

Very few people I have met outside of Northern Ireland have ever heard this Christmas song, but back in my dancing days this was big in the pubs and clubs. It is not your traditional sort of Christmas song, but I love it as it just brings back so many memories. Have you heard Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer by Elmo?

Read:

I went searching for my Christmas book. I have had a book called Favourite Christmas Stories since I was a little girl. Every year I bring it out and re-read it. That is when I know Christmas is definitely on the way!

Wore:

A smile mostly – clothes as well obviously, but nothing of note! I have a kitchen, Christmas is coming, there is even snow forecast for next week! Eccck…

Made:

I “made” some barstools for my kitchen. Well… when I say made, I don’t mean from scratch, but they were Ikea flat pack so it was pretty close! I also made a snowman from my old white Christmas tree – you can just see him in the corner. Lewis has named him Frosty – we like a bit of tradition around here!

And that is my little week. I hope yours has been a good one too?

I adore that Christmas book. It was my mum’s tradition to read it to me ever Christmas Eve. She even made sure i took it with me when I moved out! Unfortunately her copy got lost but I have another one and have carried on the tradition with my girls xx

Gorgeous bar stools, can’t believe they’re Ikea. They look fab.
I have heard that Christmas song, although haven’t for years. It does make me giggle, mostly because it’s so random.
    Have a lovely week xxx

Its certainly beging to look a lot like Christmas in these parts (although I’m probably to blame for a lot of the fluffy reindeer, do we need more ?), that’s 2 trees up already and we’re going shopping for a real one for the lounge as well (our first real one, will no doubt be a new tradition

Love an Ikea hack! The frosty tradition is quite possibly the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!

Flat packs are still a huge project hahaha They look amazing. Those are the similar ones I want for my kitchen. I love having barstools in the kitchen so people can visit while I cook. Especially when we do dinners are our dinning room is separate. Love your open plan kitchen would love that someday! Great post. So festive. #littleloves
